This camera has the best auto-focus system in our entire lineup. Here are a few of our favorite features of the SL2 for video •Dual pixel dynamic autofocus with quiet STM lenses. Canon’s new focus system works well and won’t disturb your audio. This camera does a great job tracking faces. Better autofocus for video is one of the biggest improvements in DSLR video cameras we’ve seen. • The flip around screen is great for video blogging • Shoots 1080 60 frames video for smooth slow motion. This is the best camera we currently rent if you intend to use slow motion in post-production. • CAV offers an assortment of high quality lenses for the camera including primes and telephoto. • Here at CAV we love cinematic looking video. Iin terms of video quality this is our second best, it’s hard to top a Blackmagic production camera. EOS lenses (especially primes) give a very crisp image. The SL2 can shoot a flat colour profile for better looking video in post-production. The video coming from this camera looks great. CAV offers basic colour correction services. • Can be used as a USB webcam (low frame-rate high quality) • Accepts a power supply for longer shoots. These are available through CAV. • Also an excellent choice for shooting stills. Our favorite rental camera for stills is still the Fuji XT10 however. Some limitations •Video clips are capped to a 30 minute max. At this point the user has to hit the record button again. You can rent an SD capture card from CAV for longer clips but you will have to shut autofocus off for a clean HDMI output. This camera has the best auto-focus system in our entire lineup. Here are a few of our favorite features of the SL2 for video •Dual pixel dynamic autofocus with quiet STM lenses. Canon’s new focus system works well and won’t disturb your audio. This camera does a great job tracking faces. Better autofocus for video is one of the biggest improvements in DSLR video cameras we’ve seen. • The flip around screen is great for video blogging • Shoots 1080 60 frames video for smooth slow motion. This is the best camera we currently rent if you intend to use slow motion in post-production. • CAV offers an assortment of high quality lenses for the camera including primes and telephoto. • Here at CAV we love cinematic looking video. Iin terms of video quality this is our second best, it’s hard to top a Blackmagic production camera. EOS lenses (especially primes) give a very crisp image. The SL2 can shoot a flat colour profile for better looking video in post-production. The video coming from this camera looks great. CAV offers basic colour correction services. • Can be used as a USB webcam (low frame-rate high quality) • Accepts a power supply for longer shoots. These are available through CAV. • Also an excellent choice for shooting stills. Our favorite rental camera for stills is still the Fuji XT10 however. Some limitations •Video clips are capped to a 30 minute max. At this point the user has to hit the record button again. You can rent an SD capture card from CAV for longer clips but you will have to shut autofocus off for a clean HDMI output.
